What is VIPER?

The Virginia Institute for Performance Engineering and Research (VIPER) is a unique collaborative venture which combines world class talent and state-of-the-art testing and development assets with the research capabilities of both Virginia Tech and Old Dominion University to provide performance engineering services to a broad spectrum of customers.  With facilities located at Virginia International Raceway and NASA Langley, VIPER can provide your organization with a full suite of performance engineering services, research opportunities, and educational programs.

VIPER Research

Leveraging VIPER’s state-of-the-art test assets, VIPER’s research partners, Virginia Tech and Old Dominion University, are actively engaged in fundamental engineering research to push the boundaries in vehicle development and performance.  This research component is core to VIPER’s strategic advantage.

VIPER Education

Having a depth of knowledge in our respective functional areas, VIPER participates in a number of educational programs ranging from small scale engineering experiences to summer internships to participation in post-baccalaureate degrees.
